Leah Harvey
Lyman D. Harvey's daughter, Leah, passed away at the Harvey home near Reno, Nevada on April 16th. She was having respiratory distress, and suddenly went into cardiac arrest, from which she could not be revived.

Boxcar Vets who attended the 1996 Reunion in Reno may remember Leah. She accompanied her Dad on our tour of Lake Tahoe and Squaw Valley.

Leah was only twenty-five; the youngest of Butch and Joan Harvey's children.

Butch Harvey wrote this beautiful poem for his beloved Leah.

Empty Nest
A spirit winged to heaven yesterday,
no longer with us could she stay.
Though our wish was sincere,
that she stay with us here,
a call from on high came her way.

A beautiful snowy white dove,
she returned to her Father above.
We are hurt but aware,
He had need of her there,
she now basks in the warmth of His love.

Her bedroom's so quite and still,
the hole in my heart I can't fill.
I've bid her goodbye,
and stopped asking why,
I try to accept Father's will.

Now I must endure to the end,
my sinful life I must amend.
I'll not go astray,
she's shown me the way,
my beautiful daughter and friend.
